The title of Battle Princess Madelyn was quite familiar to me when I saw it
pop up on Kickstarter, and indeed, my gut feeling was correct:
we first saw it all the way back in 2015, introduced as a 2D arcade-style title heavily inspired by the classic Ghouls N' Ghosts. And that hasn’t really changed. The game still offers plenty of varied stages to explore and even more monster-bashing action (plus a dual soundtrack with both arcade-y and orchestrated tunes), except now you can actually try it of yourself, as a pre-alpha demo showing off the first five stages is
available on Steam. As for the Kickstarter campaign, you needn’t worry: the initial goal has already been met, guaranteeing that the game will be released on a host of different platforms, such as PC, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One. Currently, we’re deep in stretch goal territory, a good number of which have already been reached, adding a variety of extras including more side quests, enemies, and game modes.
Battle Princess Madelyn is currently scheduled to be released in February 2018.
