Developer Frogwares has announced The Sinking City 2, a sequel to its story-rich Lovecraftian action-adventure game from 2021. That said, the game will tell a story separate from the previous installment, taking would-be players to the infamous city of Arkham as it’s being overtaken by supernatural creatures and eldritch terrors. Gameplay-wise, The Sinking City 2 will be a survival horror game, with Frogwares also implementing some changes: the investigative elements from the first title will be made entirely optional – players can flex their detective muscles if they so desire, but it won’t be a requirement to progress. Similarly, those not accustomed to intense combat and survival horror mechanics (such as tight resource management) will also be able to make use of various accessibility features, Frogwares explains. The Sinking City is currently slated to launch in 2025 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Frogwares is also planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the project.
