Developer Sonka has announced Holstin, a retro-style survival horror game inspired by genre classics such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil, as well as Twin Peaks. Set in the isolated Polish lakeside town of Jeziorne-Kolonia in the early 1990s, the game will invite you on a haunting journey as you attempt to track down a close friend who’s recently gone missing. Players will step into a town succumbed to a mysterious, otherworldly decay, populated by eerie inhabitants that are slowly but surely losing their grip on sanity – and, as you might imagine, the presence of a curious outsider isn’t helping matters much, either. Visually, the game harkens back to older titles with a hand-drawn pixel art aesthetic, but will also feature dynamic lighting to add an extra layer of creepiness to its already moody locales. To get a quick sample of what to expect, do check out the announcement trailer below:

Holstin will be coming to PC and consoles in 2023, with a playable Steam demo scheduled to arrive sometime in January. The game will also include full voice acting in both English and Polish.
