Zero Time Dilemma, the third and final installment in the Zero Escape series, will be making its debut this summer. The game, much like its predecessors, deals with nine individuals in a life-or-death scenario (if one needed to liken it to something, the Saw series might be a decent candidate) where they need to solve a variety of puzzles in order to survive and escape. Unlike the previous two installments, which were essentially visual novels at their core, Zero Time Dilemma appears to make use of fully animated story cutscenes to weave its narrative. Furthermore – and this may potentially be kind of important –, the fact I described it as the third and final entry in the series is no coincidence, either: judging from my experience with the previous games, I’m willing to speculate that familiarity with both Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (the first game), as well as Virtue’s Last Reward (the second game) will likely enhance the experience in terms of Zero Time Dilemma’s storyline. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see at the end of this month.

Zero Time Dilemma is scheduled to be released on 3DS and PS Vita on June 28, with the PC version arriving on June 30.
