The Belgian team of Grin is preparing a playable version of their work-in-progress sidescroller action-adventure Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries to be made available at this year’s Gamescom. Before you ask: no, this is actually not the Swedish, now-bankrupt studio of the same name, risen from the grave, but *another* Grin. Their first AAA title, Woolfe – as the trailers very much showcase – is a twisted, nightmarish interpretation of the classic Red Riding Hood character in a world rich in steampunk elements. Now, I know most of us are probably thinking of American McGee’s Alice right about now – but you know what, that’s hardly a bad thing.
The game made its Steam Greenlight debut back in February, where it was green-lit by fans in a mere five days – the devs, we later learned, are even considering a Kickstarter campaign to follow their Greenlight success.
If everything goes according to Grin’s plans, Woolfe will see its release in Q1 2015 primarily on PC and potentially consoles as well, albeit no promises have been made on that front just yet.
Gamescom will be held this summer in Cologne, Germany, between August 14 and 17.
