What Happened, a first-person psychological thriller dealing with topics such as mental health and depression, will be launching on July 30, developer Genius Slackers and publisher Katnappe have announced. The game focuses on the story of Stiles, a troubled teenager suffering from acute anxiety and depression, who must navigate the labyrinthine corridors of his own mind – comprised of nightmares and twisted memories alike – in an attempt to tackle his inner demons. Aside from the launch date, Genius Slackers has also revealed a new developer diary video in which game director Arash Negahban talks about some of the inspirations and circumstances that led to the creation of What Happened.
