VampyrPlatform: PC, PS4, XBox OneGenre: Action, RPGDeveloper: Dontnod EntertainmentPublisher: Focus Home InteractiveRelease: 06/05/2018Rated: 18+PEGIDontnod’s Vampyr has received a new update that may or may not change the way you play. More specifically, there are two new difficulty settings on offer: one is the so-called Story Mode, which makes combat less important and allows players to focus entirely on the narrative aspects of Vampyr, while the other is Hard Mode, which – as one might expect – will increase the campaign’s difficulty by making enemies tougher. It will also grant you less experience points for slaying said enemies, placing further emphasis on having to sacrifice NPC citizens to evolve.

Whether or not these new modes will improve Vampyr in any significant way is hard to say – when we reviewed the game back in June, we weren’t particularly impressed with it for a variety of reasons.
