The highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines has been delayed into the first half of 2025, as revealed by a recent development update from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The reason for the delay is commendable, as the team decided to prioritize polish over sticking to their original release date, allowing them to fine-tune and expand on various aspects of the game. As noted in the video, this will result in more time for quality checking, an expanded narrative with even more endings, as well as the implementation of various other community feedback. Bloodlines 2 has had a rocky development cycle, to say the least: originally announced all the way back in 2019, the project has since switched developers from Hardsuit Labs to The Chinese Room, and even saw its core narrative designers – Brian Mitsoda and Cara Ellison – leave.

Going forward, the team maintains that they’re not entering a “quiet period” – instead, they will continue to share continuous updates regarding development, and will announce a release date when they’re certain the project is ready. Fingers crossed.
