It was announced quite a while ago that there would be a new Fire Emblem game coming for the 3DS, which is understandable, considering the success of 2012’s Fire Emblem: Awakening. The new game, titled Fire Emblem If in Japan, will revolve around the warring factions of Hoshido and Nohr, with the player given a choice to join either one. We have learned that the game in Japan will be released as two separate versions (a white edition for Hoshido, a black one for Nohr) to correspond to the two storylines – if you buy one, the other will be available as DLC at a reduced price. Additionally, there’s a so-called third storyline that, once again, will be made available as DLC, as well as a completed limited edition pack containing all three routes. So far, however, this applies primarily to the Japanese version of the game – it has not yet been made clear whether or not the western release of the title will be using the same model. It has also been revealed that Nohr’s storyline will provide more of a challenge – with limited money and XP – compared to the Hoshido side.
The game will be available on June 25, 2015 in Japan, and is scheduled for a western release sometime in 2016.
