Developer BerserkBoy Games have announced Berserk Boy, a 2D platformer armed with retro-inspired pixel art and adrenaline-pumping action in which the fate of all humanity rests on your shoulders. Taking place in the distant future, the game begins as the evil, maddened Dr. Genos wages war on planet Earth. Thankfully, protagonist Kei is on the case – as the titular Berserk Boy, he is able to morph into a variety of different forms and harness their mighty elemental powers of lightning, fire, earth, air and ice in order to, you know, kick some butt and hopefully save the day. The game offers “slick and stylish platforming action” with a splash of nostalgia, a combo system that allows you to unleash special moves unique to your given form, and plenty of running, jumping and platforming in a lovingly pixelated, futuristic city. Here’s the announcement trailer:

Berserk Boy will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, as well as Nintendo Switch in 2022.
