October may be coming to an end, but the last stretch of the month is looking like a veritable gold mine of promising indie titles: from haunted ships to creepy national parks and non-stop demon-slaying action, the lineup is looking both strong and familiar, even featuring some of our Next Fest favorites. Check out our list below to see which late-October indies we’re looking forward to the most!

Missed our previous coverage of October indie games? Here they are: Part 1, Part 2.

Tormented Souls 2 (October 23)

Tormented Souls 2 continues where the original left off and follows the adventures of Caroline Walker as she battles the forces of darkness while trying to save her sister. If you enjoyed the original, we have good news: the sequel doesn’t seem to make any drastic changes to the tried-and-true formula, and will offer the same classics-inspired gameplay you know and love, with cryptic puzzles, scarce resources and limited saving.

Dispatch (October 22)

A comedic adventure game where you take on the role of a dispatcher working with superheroes. Get to know your team, decide who to send where, and embrace office shenanigans in a cinematic experience brought to life by an all-star voice cast featuring talents like Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey, among many others.

Radiolight (October 23)

A mystery thriller taking place in 1985, Radiolight stars a lone policeman who gets called into a national park to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a child – but when he gets there, it becomes blatantly obvious that something has gone very, very wrong in the woods.

Painted in Blood (October 23)

A boomer shooter featuring retro-style FPS action and a dark, gritty art style that’s an absolute joy to look at – if you’re in the mood for relentless gunfights, lovely visuals and lots of zombie heads to blow off, this is the game for you.

Species: Unknown (October 23)

A co-op horror game that seems to combine elements of Alien: Isolation and Lethal Company – board a creepy spaceship alone or with friends, explore its hallways and complete objectives… all the while trying to avoid the monster that killed the former crew of the ship.

Silly Polly Beast (October 28)

A horror-themed shooter with vibrant visuals, tight controls and a memorable art direction, Silly Polly Beast follows the supernatural adventures of a young girl who must fight through hordes of demons to escape the underworld. Which may or may not involve smacking them across the face with a skateboard.

Ire: A Prologue (October 28)

A narrative horror game set on an old ship stranded in the Bermuda Triangle, Ire: Prologue looks promising enough, and I did generally enjoy its creepy atmosphere back when I tried its Next Fest demo. I can only hope it’ll manage to maintain that momentum while also telling a worthwhile story.

So that’s a wrap on spooky season, but make sure to check back soon, when we begin our deep-dive into the best indie game releases of November 2025! See you then!
