The holiday season is almost here, but that doesn’t mean there’s a shortage of indie games coming out! Far from it, really. So, here’s what December had to offer so far – these are some of the coolest indie titles that came out during the first few days of the month. Enjoy!

Cloudheim

A vibrant action-RPG taking place in a colorful world ripe for exploration. The game offers physics-based combat that emphasizes weaving together deadly combos for increased damage, as well as a flexible class system that allows you to try different weapons and play styles. In other words, there are plenty of ways to let your creativity shine. So go crazy!

SLEEP AWAKE

A narrative horror game taking place in the last known city on Earth, in a world where people mysteriously disappear in their sleep. So how do the people react? They desperately try to stay awake, no matter the cost. I’m sure that’ll end well.

Kingdom of Night

When a satanic cult summons the demon Baphomet (already off to a good start, I know) to unleash literal hell upon a small American town in the late 80s, it’s up to you to take matters into your own hands – Kingdom of Night is an isometric action-RPG about an apocalyptic night where you battle demons to save your home from the forces of darkness. Just like my average Tuesday, really.

ROUTINE

A retro sci-fi survival horror game 12 years in the making, ROUTINE takes you to an abandoned (and insanely atmospheric) lunar base that turns out to be… not so abandoned, after all. I mean, I’m not sure what you were expecting. This is a horror game.

Rhythm Doctor

A rhythm game where you heal patients by matching your button presses to their heartbeats – all the while trying to defeat pesky viruses that try to disrupt your flow. It also has insanely catchy music, because what would a rhythm game be without solid tunes?

MineMogul

What if you had to build and maintain a factory… but underground? In the physics-based automation sandbox game MineMogul, that’s exactly what you’re tasked with; embrace the chaos, and try to overcome it… without getting too overwhelmed.

Skate Story

A surreal skating game where you’re a demon made of glass and pain, and you’ve just made a deal with the Devil. Your task? To skate to the moon and swallow it. In exchange, you’ll be free.

And that’s it for the first week of December (give or take a day), but check back soon as we continue exploring the many amazing indie releases of the month – next time, we’ll be focusing largely on mid-December titles!
