Metroidvania. Pixel graphics. Kickstarter. Those three words – along with a strongly nostalgic pitch video – have already managed to convince a good chunk of people that Timespinner will indeed be something quite special. And you know what, it might be! We have a visual style straight out of the 16-bit era, a soundtrack reminiscent of everyone’s first Metroidvania love affair, Symphony of the Night, and to top it all off – the game starts off with a revenge story centered on time travel.

Our heroine is one Lunais who, after having witnessed the massacre of her own family, vows revenge against the murderers. Her method? Simple: go back in time and destroy all who had wronged her. As a game, Timespinner treads on familiar ground as a classic Metroidvania-styled action-platformer – we can guarantee you’ll be exploring huge, sprawling 2D maps, tackling a variety of obstacles and memorable boss fights, all with a time travel twist, as Lunais will be able to temporary stop time and use it to her advantage both in combat and in solving puzzles.

With the campaign’s success, Timespinner’s release is more or less confirmed – you can expect it to hit PC, Mac, OS X and Linux sometime in November of 2015. And with a few more stretch goals, the adventure will find its way onto both PS4 and PS Vita as well.
