The Waylanders, an in-development RPG from Gato Salvaje, has successfully reached the end of its Kickstarter campaign, amassing a little over $168,000 in the process – that’s hardly the end, though, as the team is currently offering the option to pledge via PayPal for those who missed the main campaign. As for the game itself, it’s a classic party-based RPG in the vein of Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, but it comes with a twist: and that twist is time travel between the Medieval and Celtic eras. On the gameplay front, The Waylanders has real-time combat with a tactical pause, and offers the ability to freely change between isometric and third-person view; additionally, you’ll be able to arrange your party members in various formations – each with its unique advantages – lending another tactical layer to the combat. It’s also worth noting that ex-BioWare creative director Mike Laidlaw, who had previously worked on the Dragon Age series, is also helping out the team as a creative consultant.

The Waylanders is currently scheduled for a 2020 release on PC.
