It seems very much like 2002’s action-adventure classic Mafia will soon be reborn in the form of a ground-up remake. Following some cryptic tweets from the series’ official Twitter account, 2K has now revealed a teaser video for a so-called Mafia Trilogy, as well as an announcement date – May 19. It gets better, though. A seemingly leaked Microsoft Store page shows off the remake in its full glory with a number of gorgeous screenshots – titled Mafia: Definitive Edition, the game breathes new life into the city of Lost Heaven and is set to feature an expanded storyline, gameplay, as well as a new score. According to the very same store page, the game will be coming out on August 28, 2020.

Mafia tells the story of unlucky cab driver Tommy Angelo, who ends up getting deeply involved with organized crime in 1930s America and becomes a gangster working for the powerful Salieri family. The game was followed by two sequels: Mafia II in 2011 and Mafia III in 2016.
