The existence of a Resident Evil 3 remake has been the topic of rumor for a while now, and considering the overwhelming success of RE2’s recent reboot, it makes sense to assume that Capcom would wish to give the third installment of its classic survival horror franchise a much-needed makeover, too. Well, it seems very much like the project is, in fact, in the works: a piece of cover art depicting main characters Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira, as well as the title’s primary antagonist, Nemesis, has surfaced on the site Gamestat.com. The team-based spinoff title, Project Resistance, has also appeared on the site under the title Resident Evil: Resistance. They look real enough, but we’ll have to wait and see if Capcom has an official announcement planned in the coming days. Considering that The Game Awards is being held this month, a reveal could very well be on its way.

Update: Answering a fan’s question during a Reddit AMA session, The Game Awards organizer Geoff Keighley stated that Resident Evil 3 won’t be making an appearance at TGA, adding that nothing about the show has leaked thus far.
