Developer Grimorio of Games has published a brief developer diary video going over some of the key mechanics of Sword of the Necromancer, a dungeon crawling action-RPG with roguelike elements. Featuring game designer Victor Pedreno and producer Jose Antonio Andújar, the roughly four-minute video starts by introducing one of Sword of the Necromancer’s defining features: the fact that the protagonist is able to resurrect fallen monsters in order to recruit them as allies, and then make use of their unique abilities to prevail in battle. The developer diary then takes a brief look at the local co-op mode and explains how the game will make use of the Nintendo Switch’s built-in IR Camera in order to let players scan so-called IR Codes to obtain various rewards. You can check out the full video below:

Sword of the Necromancer is scheduled to launch later this year on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and Switch.
