It’s difficult nowadays to start any discussion of Alien: Isolation without making at least a quick mention of the successful 1979 classic it was based upon. Today is no different: this time, Sigourney Weaver herself made an appearance in a brief interview, talking about her experiences with the game. You guessed it – the famed actress will briefly return in Alien: Isolation to reprise her role as the iconic Ellen Ripley: she and her crew will appear in two extra missions available as pre-order DLC content.

One mission will see the old crew (Ripley, Lambert, Brett, Dallas, Parker) try and lure the xenomorph into the airlock, while another will be Ripley herself activating the self-destruct sequence of the Nostromo in a video game reenactment of the movie’s big finale. While, truth be told, pre-order exclusivity is hardly on my list of favorite things about the game industry, I am nonetheless curious about how well the new content will fare via Weaver’s contributions.

Alien: Isolation will be released on October 7 for PC, PS3/4 and Xbox 360/One platforms.
