Developer Red Candle Games has launched a crowdfunding campaign for a gorgeous 2D action-platformer called Nine Sols. Championing the so-called Taopunk style, Nine Sols seamlessly blends cyberpunk visuals with a distinctly Asian aesthetic to create its jaw-dropping world of sci-fi mysticism. Starring a lone warrior called Yi, the game will have players embark on a quest of vengeance as they face off against countless enemies and ancient guardians, utilizing a Sekiro-esque, deflection-based combat style that mixes lightning-fast parries with magical seals, spells and various other weapons. At the time of writing, the campaign has already met its original funding goal, and is looking to expand with several stretch goals that aim to add even more content to the project, including a “story mode” with a lowered difficulty, more cutscenes, hidden bosses and even an alternate ending.
