Developer Perelesoq and publisher Nordcurrent have revealed Torn Away, a story-driven adventure game that looks at World War II through the eyes of a child. As the war devastates the continent, 10-year-old protagonist Asya is separated from her family and sent to a labor camp – she manages to escape, but now she’s on her own and surrounded by war, death and soldiers. Based on children’s war diaries, Torn Away hopes to highlight the tragedy of the war from a different perspective while its narrative is propped up by side-scrolling stealth gameplay where you’ll have to hide from soldiers or find food and shelter in order to survive. Have a look at the announcement trailer below:

Torn Away is scheduled to launch in late 2021 for PC via Steam and GOG.
