Retro-style metroidvania Mira and the Legend of the Djinns announced

Developer littleknightgames and publisher Assemble Entertainment have revealed Mira and the Legend of the Djinns, a metroidvania-style game inspired by “Moroccan and Amazigh culture, language, and spiritual traditions.” The game focuses on Yuba, an ambitious explorer and treasure hunter who one day ends up coming in contact with Mira, a Djinn without memories – the two then form a bond and embark on a journey to discover the secrets of the past and reclaim Mira’s lost memories. Through the bond between Yuba and Mira, players will be able to use four weapons relating to the four primal elements of Djinns (Solar, Celestial, Infernal, Lunar), while also being able to seamlessly switch between them on the fly as the situation demands it. The game will additionally feature a variety of skills and magical abilities to unlock, as well as numerous items and tools to use for solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles – in other words, pretty much everything you’d expect in a solid metroidvania title.
