There’s just something about games taking inspiration from the visual style of the PSX era that I can’t resist. And I suppose you now know exactly why ROOST, a retro-style horror game from developer Jack Chapman, has piqued my curiosity: oozing with low-poly charm and featuring some deliciously disturbing imagery, the project feels like a cozy time machine back into the glory days of the original Silent Hill. It takes place in the fictional town of Mournborough, located in the northeastern part of England, and was inspired by the various stories and tales of the region. While a lot of what we can expect is obviously still shrouded in mystery, I’m very much looking forward to finding out what lurks in the darkest corners of Mournborough – but in the meantime, do absolutely check out the game’s announcement trailer below:
