Developer Dead Drop Studios is currently in the middle of a successful Kickstarter campaign for Outbreak: Shades of Horror, a co-op zombie survival horror game inspired by genre classics from the 90s and early 2000s. Taking place in the town of Cypress Ridge during a zombie apocalypse, the game will follow a variety of different survivors, each with their own unique skills, backstories and roles to play in the narrative. The city itself will offer multiple locations to explore, along with different endings based on your choices, but there’s a twist: if you fall victim to the hordes of the undead, you’ll become a flesh-eating monstrosity yourself, whose only job is to hunt down its former teammates. In the hopes of pleasing every type of horror enthusiast out there, the game will also be playable in three different modes: first-person, over-the-shoulder and even a mode with fixed camera angles.

At the time of writing, the campaign has already met its initial goal and is currently hoping to get multiple stretch goals funded: these include cross-platform multiplayer, AI teammates, various bonus modes and even a “Dinobreak” expansion pack. There’s also a brief playable demo currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Google Stadia.
