Summer continues – and so does our coverage of upcoming indie games! This time, we’re taking a look at titles coming out during the second week of August. Enjoy!

Whisper Mountain Outbreak (August 11)

A 4-player co-op experience described as “escape room meets co-op survival horror”, Whisper Mountain Outbreak sees players trapped on the haunted Mount Bisik in 1998 – they must work together and escape… or dying trying.

Abyssus (August 12)

Cool guns, four players, infinite action – Abyssus is a 4-player co-op roguelite FPS where you descend into a deadly abyss to extract a rare substance beneath the ruins of a sunken civilization. However, when the monstrous inhabitants of said ruins prove to be extremely deadly, you have no choice but to fight back.

The Scouring (August 12)

A real-time strategy game about orcs and humans, set in a world of fantasy and magic. (No, not that one.) Choose your sides, build your base and gather resources, then customize your hero to claim dominance – or do it with friends. The Scouring will also feature online multiplayer modes, either in the form of team skirmishes or a deadly free-for-all with up to 8 players.

BROK the InvestiGator - The Brawl Bar (August 13)

A DLC expansion to BROK the InvestiGator, The Brawl Bar will largely focus on the beat’em up aspects of the original title as the titular boxer-turned-detective enters the ring to show off his boxing prowess. To quote the developers, “expect 80% action and 20% adventure/visual novel” this time around.

OVIS LOOP (August 14)

A gorgeous pixel art action-roguelike where players control Omega, a robot sheep wielding quite the arsenal of weapons – expect fast-paced combat with a unique combo system that will have you develop your own play style by letting you choose how to evolve the skills you gain from defeated enemies.

Inkshade (August 14)

A strategic, turn-based roguelite where you play a mysterious board game hosted by a similarly mysterious game master. Will you succeed and claim victory? Well… probably not. But you can always try again, and again, and again…

The Dark Queen of Mortholme (August 15)

The valiant Hero challenges the final boss of the game – the evil queen of Mortholme. Except this time, you play as the final boss. That’s right: in this unique pixel art game, you must take on the role of the titular dark queen and slay the Hero in a climactic clash… and then do it again every time he comes back.

And that’s it for now, but don’t worry – we’ll be back soon with Part 3 to explore even more indie games coming out in August. Stay tuned!
