Summer continues – and so does our coverage of upcoming indie games! This time, we’re taking a look at titles coming out during the first week of August. Enjoy!

Lotus: Lost Memories (August 2)

A pixel art adventure starring a young samurai called Atsushi who goes on a perilous journey to help his ailing father. Fascinatingly, the game is a side-scrolling visual novel that combines its narrative elements with strategic turn-based combat.

Static Dread: The Lighthouse (August 6)

Described as “Lovecraft meets Papers, Please”, Static Dread puts you in the shoes of a lone lighthouse keeper trying to guide ships to safety. As the days pass, however, strange and otherworldly happenings begin to occur, threatening your very sanity…

Chained Echoes: Ashes of Elrant (August 7)

A DLC expansion to the pixel art RPG Chained Echoes, Ashes of Elrant will take place just before the finale of the original game – it introduces a new playable character, as well as new areas, enemies, bosses, music and minigames.

Tiny Bookshop (August 7)

A narrative management game, Tiny Bookshop will have you set up your very own – you guessed it – tiny bookshop. You stock up on second-hand books of various genres, enjoy the nice scenery, and make friends with the locals as you try to become the best bookseller in town. Sounds pretty chill to me.

Artis Impact (August 7)

Described as a story-rich single player experience that’s “light, easy, and full of smiles”, Artis Impact is a turn-based pixel art RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players follow the life of a woman named Akane and explore the many secrets of the world while engaging in various everyday activities, from earning money through part-time jobs to simply enjoying a quiet bath.

And that’s it for now, but don’t worry – we’ll be back soon with Part 2 to explore even more indie games coming out in August. Stay tuned!
