Developer Yacht Club Games has revealed Mina the Hollower, a charmingly nostalgic 2D action-adventure with a distinct visual style that pays homage to the 8-bit era and its many classics – what’s more, it’s also launched a Kickstarter campaign to aid its development. Starring Mina, the titular Hollower, the game will have you embark on a dangerous quest across a cursed island as you defeat a wide variety of grotesque monstrosities – either with your whip, or one of the many additional weapons available in your arsenal. Inspired in large part by the Gothic horror tales of the Victorian era, the game will pit you against all kinds of spooky spooksters while blasting an MSX-style soundtrack created by chiptune composer Jake Kaufman.
