H.P. Lovecraft’s works have been the inspiration to a number of video game projects in the past: some will remember 2005’s Dark Corners of the Earth, the comedic Miskatonic, the short but sweet All the Way Down or even the sadly failed The Case of Charles Dexter Ward Kickstarter. As such, it comes as no surprise that an official Call of Cthulhu game has been announced. The title, developed by Cyanide (a studio behind games including Bloodbowl, Aarklash: Legacy, Styx: Master of Shadows and so on), introduces itself as an “RPG-Investigation game with psychological horror and stealth mechanics”. There’s little information about the game at present and the official site doesn’t have much to show other than a few gorgeous screenshots, but do check those out, at any rate.
Call of Cthulhu is scheduled to be released sometime in 2017 for both consoles and PC.
