Bloomylight Studio’s charming 2D platformer titled Lynn and the Spirits of Inao has launched its Kickstarter campaign, promising a lush 2D platforming adventure in the vein of Rayman, Super Mario and Metroidvania titles, all spiced up with visuals very much reminiscent of Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away or Mononoke Princess. Then again, the colorful, fairy tale-esque locales and the huge floating whale staring you in the face on the project’s official Kickstarter page was already hint enough that we’re in for something fairly Miyazaki-ish. In the game’s storyline, you take on the role of the young Lynn and go on a journey (alongside a demon spirit) to try and save the island of Inao, once a place of harmony between gods and humans, but now mysteriously under attack by hostile spirits. On the gameplay front, Inao places heavy emphasis on its day/night cycle, and your ability to change the time of day at will, enabling you to see each level in two different ways.

Lynn and the Spirits of Inao is currently scheduled to be released on PC (Windows) around April of 2017, should it meet its initial goal of €53,000. Stretch goals, however, could also guarantee PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and Mac versions.
