Wargaming, the company behind World of Tanks, World of Warships, World of Warplanes and so on, have announced their desire to revive Master of Orion, the sci-fi strategy game series from the 90s and early 2000s. In the original Master of Orion, released all the way back in 1993, players picked from ten races and embarked upon a journey to lead them to prosperity, conquering their enemies and engaging in intergalactic diplomacy along the way. A sequel was released in 1996, while the third installment launched in 2003 – and since then, not much has happened with the franchise. Until now, that is. Wargaming bought the Master of Orion rights back in 2013, and is now planning to bring back the old classic – the game itself will be developed by a certain NGD Studios, with help from key members of the original Master of Orion team.
