Developer Superstatic has announced a February 15 Early Access launch date for Liberte, a narrative-focused roguelike with an interesting twist. Taking place in an alternate version of the French Revolution, the game adds cosmic Lovecraftian horror into the mix as players fight and struggle to decide which of the four main factions in Paris will ultimately take control of the city. Inspired by games like Slay the Spire, Liberte mixes roguelike gameplay with deckbuilder mechanics – players will gradually draw more and more cards from their personal decks, gaining new abilities in the process. Featuring both solo and co-op play, the game will also pit you against the mysterious Lady Bliss, whose terrifying influence is making ordinary Parisians turn into horrific monsters that serve her without question – indeed, if the Revolution itself wasn’t bloody enough, now you’ve got supernatural entities to contend with as well. Fun, eh?

As noted above, Liberte will be releasing on Steam Early Access on February 15.
