We don’t see the 1920s depicted in video games *too* often – and I dare say that an adaptation coming in the form of a point and click adventure is an even rarer occurrence to behold. And yet, this is exactly what A Golden Wake aims to conjure up – an era of change, “glitz, glamour, and promise”, now brought to life as a classic-styled 2D adventure. The game is the fruit is Francisco Gonzalez’s labors, who had thus far earned his place in the hall of indie fame with his freeware adventure series Ben Jordan: Paranormal Investigator. As far as publishing is concerned, A Golden Wake is being handled by the one and only Wadjet Eye Games, possibly most notably recognized by indie adventure aficionados for their work on the brilliant Blackwell series.

The story of a Golden Wake stars Alfie Banks, your friendly neighborhood Average Joe who wishes to strike it big and decides to embark on the risk-laden road of real estate business – all in order to carve himself a respectable slice of the pie known as the American Dream. Gangsters, corrupt politicians and dangerous money games await all interested indie game fans quite soon, as A Golden Wake is scheduled to be released as early as this fall on PC.
