Larian Studios, the team behind Divinity: Original Sin, may be gearing up for a surprise Baldur’s Gate 3 announcement. Yes, you heard me right, and no, I can’t quite believe it either, but it may indeed be true. First things first, though: the teaser site put up by Larian only shows the number “III”, which is intriguing, but not what could be called a definite announcement. However, Twitter user Kunken did a bit of digging on the page and unearthed references to Baldur’s Gate, as well as the franchise’s well-known message about having to “gather your party before venturing forth”.
This is big news if true, and not just because we might be getting Baldur’s Gate 3, but because it could very well be developed by the team that brought us Divinity: Original Sin 2, one of the finest western RPGs in recent years – in other words, if there’s anyone that could pull off a project like this, it’s Larian.
