Doom has turned 25 years old, and to celebrate the occasion, Doom creator and id Software co-founder John Romero has announced that he’ll be releasing SIGIL, an 18-level megawad containing nine single-player and nine deathmatch maps. SIGIL is also a spiritual successor to Doom’s fourth episode (Thy Flesh Consumed) and will be released free of charge in February of 2019 – the only thing you’ll need to run it, of course, is a copy of the original 1993 Doom.

Romero has also teamed up with Limited Run Games to release two separate physical editions for SIGIL. The so-called Beast Box will set you back $166 and contains a whole set of physical goodies, while the Standard Edition comes with the more modest price tag of $39.99 and fewer extra items.
