Gwent story campaign Thronebreaker will instead be a standalone RPG

The upcoming story mode expansion for Gwent, titled Thronebreaker, has evolved quite a bit and will instead be its own game, CD Projekt RED announced. Originally revealed as Gwent: Thronebreaker, the game would’ve fit into CDPR’s Gwent as a story-focused single player campaign, but has now been renamed to Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. According to the company, although card games will still play a role in Thronebreaker and the player’s actions will be resolved through Gwent, it is first and foremost a roleplaying game with a good 30 hours of content – it will be a completely standalone release and won’t require you to have Gwent installed at all.
