Wondering what to get during the GOG Spring Sale but you don't want to spend too much? Well, in case your collection is missing some awesome retro gems, we have good news: the classic games below are all on sale for 2€ or less at the moment!

Deus Ex
The original Deus Ex is an FPS/RPG cyberpunk classic that any fan of the genre ought to play – while Human Revolution was also a triumph, the first Deus Ex is just in a league of its own. Its thought-provoking and ever-relevant narrative, dystopian atmosphere and intricate level design all make it a timeless classic that, despite its dated graphics, is absolutely worth experiencing even in 2025.

When it comes to fantasy stealth games, it doesn’t quite get any better than Thief. Not only is the series filled with complex and multi-layered levels that lend themselves well to different approaches, it also boasts a grim storyline and a charismatic anti-hero protagonist in the form of the cunning master thief, Garrett. Let’s just say it’s no coincidence that Thief is one of the most beloved retro PC game franchises of all time.

Tomb Raider Anniversary / Legend / Underworld
While the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider was a sufficiently enjoyable action-adventure romp, if you’re looking for some classic Lara goodness, with non-stop action and head-scratching puzzles, the Anniversary / Legend / Underworld trilogy should fit the bill beautifully.

Deadly Premonition
Heavily inspired by David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, Deadly Premonition is a bizarre masterpiece that anyone who’s into absurd comedy and dark, twisty-turny thrillers should add to their “to play” list. Don’t let the game’s awkward jank intimidate you: the story alone makes it totally worth suffering through it.

Hitman (1, 2, Contracts, Blood Money, Absolution)
The iconic suit, the iconic bald head, and the countless disguises – Hitman is a series that’s still going strong, but if you want to go back to the beginnings and pick up every single older entry in the franchise, this is as good of an opportunity as any.

Prince of Persia (The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, The Two Thrones)
Before Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft did Prince of Persia. A modern take on the 1989 game, The Sands of Time added a time-manipulating twist to the original’s platforming formula, creating a dark Middle Eastern fairy tale that is considered a certified classic to this day.

Clive Barker's Undying
Undying is a horror FPS with a terrifying atmosphere and a dark storyline written by Clive Barker of Hellraiser and Candyman fame. From vampires to malicious ghosts, from haunted mansions to ancient monasteries, the game is jam-packed with bone-chilling locales and great ideas that make it worthy of being called a true cult classic.

Anachronox
A relatively obscure sci-fi/cyberpunk RPG with a terrific sense of humor, Anachronox is a true gem – starring a down-on-his-luck detective called Sly Boots, the game has you embark on a journey unlike any other. I mean, can you name any other RPG that allows you to recruit a miniature planet as one of your companions? I thought so.

Psychonauts
A mind-bending parody of spy fiction from the illustrious Tim Schafer, Psychonauts has you dive into the minds of various individuals and explore the shockingly creative and colorful landscapes of their inner worlds. Schafer’s name is often synonymous with lovably zany ideas presented in endlessly creative ways – Psychonauts is no exception in that regard, and is one of the best examples of developer Double Fine’s unique genius.

System Shock
The first installment in the renowned cyberpunk RPG series, System Shock stars a lone hacker as he explores a doomed space station overtaken by the rogue AI SHODAN – the game’s excellent sequel is probably the one you’ve heard more about, but it’s not under 2€, so... you know. (You should still get it, though.)

Serious Sam: The First Encounter / Serious Sam: The Second Encounter
Despite what its title might suggest, Serious Sam isn’t a particularly “serious” game at all – it’s all about mindless fun. However, if you’re in the mood for relentless action, plenty of guns, and massive hordes of monsters to mow down, both the original game and its sequel are heavily discounted right now.
Now, you may be wondering: what about newer titles? Worry not, we have a few recommendations on that front as well. Below is a non-exhaustive list of semi-recent titles that we personally like, and hope you will too! And yes, these are all under 2€!

The Coma: Recut / The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters
A Korean horror game series with pleasant, comic book-style visuals. Explore your school, hide from the relentless killer chasing you, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get out alive. No guarantees, though.

Deponia
If you miss the days of cartoony point & click adventure games in the vein of Monkey Island 3, Deponia is a title that just might scratch that itch. Be warned, though: its puzzles can be quite challenging if you’re not used to the... rather unique leaps of logic employed by such games from time to time.

Paper Beast
Created by Éric Chahi of Another World fame, Paper Beast is a unique exploration/adventure game set deep within the internet, where strangely enough... life has formed. By which I mean: you meet cute origami animals. The game places a heavy emphasis on its physics system, and has you interacting with the environment and its paper-based inhabitants to solve puzzles and experiment with what you’re capable of.

The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day
A narrative-driven adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has gone extinct, The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day has you step into the role of an engineering robot who’s trying to learn more about humans, all the while solving a variety of puzzles.

Deadlight: Director's Cut
Set in the year 1986, the game follows Randall Wayne, a survivor looking for his loved ones among the ruins of Seattle. Gameplay-wise, survival and resource management are key: as ammo is scarce, you often have to resort to stealth and using the environment to your advantage in order to get ahead.

Bad Dream: Coma
Developer Desert Fox’s Bad Dream: Coma is characterized by a highly minimalistic but hauntingly memorable art style – the game invites you to a nightmare you can’t wake up from, and lets you explore its grisly, disturbing landscapes as you see fit. Everything can change with your choices, but be warned: even a single bad decision could spell your doom.

Her Story
A compelling detective game where you piece together the truth by watching interviews of a woman talking about her missing husband, Her Story is a must-play for fans of intriguing mysteries. It’s a puzzle through and through – but one that is absolutely worth solving.
