Hungarian developer Primal Game Studio has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Mandragora, a 2.5D side-scrolling action-RPG with Metroidvania and Soulslike inspirations. Taking place in a dark fantasy world on the brink of ruin, the game will have you venture into the unknown on a quest to reclaim the realm from monsters and fight back the corruption known as Entropy. Players will meet a variety of NPCs, grow their caravan with the help of artisans capable of crafting gear or useful items, and customize their heroes through a rich upgrade system offering different abilities and classes to pick from. With a wide variety of branching, interconnected locations to explore, numerous monstrous enemies to overcome and moral dilemmas to tackle, Mandragora is shaping up to be an immensely promising project and we can’t wait to see more of it; also worth noting is the fact that the game’s soundtrack will be composed by Christos Antoniou, a Greek musician that fans of metal music may know as one of the founding members of the band Septicflesh.
