Have you backed Pillars of Eternity (formerly Project Eternity) with $110 or more? If so, you’re in luck, because the backer-only beta is now out and available for adventurers to sink their collective teeth into. Content-wise, the beta will allow lucky backers to explore the village of Dyrford as well as its surrounding wilderness. All classes, races, subraces and difficulties will be available for you to pick from, and you’ll be able to advance from level 5 to level 8 just to give you a solid idea of character progression, Obsidian’s Josh Sawyer explained.
It was also revealed that the beta will be a strictly spoiler-free affair so that people can try the game without having the full experience ruined for them. Which is really for the best. The beta itself is currently only available for Windows (Mac and Linux versions can be expected in the upcoming weeks), and only through Steam. Obsidian is, naturally, also looking for feedback from all participants – for this is what an early beta is all about, after all –, so if you’re interested, do check out their latest update, which contains a list of topics they’d love to hear your opinions on.
