Gamebook-style JRPG The Use of Life launches via Early Access

Developer Daraneko Games and publisher PLAYISM have released the Early Access version of The Use of Life, a unique, gamebook-style JRPG with a heavy emphasis on narrative-shaping choices. Players take on the role of Goshe, a rabbitfolk warrior whose village is razed to the ground, prompting him to embark on a quest for vengeance – the shape his adventure takes, however, is entirely dependent on your choices and the type of attachments you form, which will in turn influence Goshe’s personality and the ultimate outcome of his story. The project also utilizes “choose your own adventure”-style gameplay, pairing it with gamebook-like storytelling and random events determined by dice rolls; meanwhile, combat is a turn-based affair with QTE elements where both you and your opponent pick three actions at the beginning of each turn. As for the current Early Access build, it includes the first two chapters of the game’s storyline, with more to come later. Here’s a recent trailer:
