Developer INTI CREATES has announced Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark, a follow-up to last year’s Gal Guardians: Demon Purge. Sporting lovely pixel art and anime-style aesthetics, the game will maintain the tight 2D action that players saw in the original game, while placing even more of an emphasis on exploration, essentially shifting the title’s genre to a full-on metroidvania. The game’s world is similarly expanded, encompassing not just a single castle, but the whole of the demonic realm as you control two demon maids, Kirika and Masha. Naturally, introducing two protagonists also means the game will support 2-player online co-op, if you’d prefer to explore the demon world with a friend at your side.
