Developer GSC Game World have just given the world a very limited peek at STALKER 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the popular post-apocalyptic FPS. In other words, we got a cool
screenshot. Posted over at the game’s official Twitter account, the picture depicts a desolate forest landscape, as well as what appears to be a radioactive anomaly. Attached to the screenshot is a brief
message from the developers, thanking the fans for their continued enthusiasm, and promising to make
STALKER 2 their most ambitious project to date.
The first entry in the series, titled STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, was released back in 2007 – it dropped you into the so-called Zone, a highly dangerous area located around the Chernobyl Power Plant that happens to be teeming with mutated creatures, radioactive anomalies and the titular Stalkers, armed scavengers who roam the Zone in search of buried artifacts. The game was later followed by two additional installments: STALKER: Clear Sky in 2008, and STALKER: Call of Pripyat in 2009.
