Not to be confused with Rogue Galaxy on the Playstation 2 (surely I wasn’t that only one that made that mistake), Rebel Galaxy comes to us from former Runic Games (Torchlight, Torchlight 2) co-founders Travis Baldree and Erich Schaefer. The duo left the company earlier this year in order to found Double Damage Games – their fruit of their labor is now the announcement you’re looking at right now. Rebel Galaxy aims to be a “swashbuckling space adventure” where you command a star destroyer (already liking the sound of that) in order to explore the vast ocean of space and engage in trade and “negotiations” with aliens. No doubt said negotiations will involve the not-so-friendly end of a laser cannon, as it usually happens in these games, but we’ll have to wait for more info on that front.
Rebel Galaxy will be released on Steam and PS4 in 2015, while the Xbox One version is still an uncertain “maybe” (and in brackets, too).
