Developer Cloak and Dagger Games’ horror adventure game The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow has launched on Nintendo Switch, along with a free playable demo for gamers to try. Originally released in 2022 and inspired by English folklore, the game will place you in the role of Thomasina Bateman, an antiquarian who travels to the small village of Bewlay to conduct some research for her upcoming book – however, when the person who invited her is nowhere to be found, and her own assistant never arrives to the village, she starts to realize that she may have a lot more to deal with than innocent research. The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow promises a dark and intriguing tale of folk horror, brought to life with nostalgic pixel art and classic point & click adventure gameplay.
