It was in September of last year when we first reported on Night Cry (still going under the name Project Scissors back then), the spiritual successor to the classic Clock Tower horror adventure series. It’s been months since then, we even saw a live action teaser, and now, the time has come for the team of Nude Maker and CEO Hifumi Kono to show off their latest creation to the world.

In an interview given to Polygon, Kono has also revealed that he intends to try and fund a PC version of Night Cry by relying on Kickstarter, primarily due to budget limitations. As it stands right now, the game is only scheduled to be released on PS Vita and tablets, which, as Kono explained, disappointed a number of fans.
"Once we announced [Project Scissors], the fans' reaction was basically, 'Yeah, we've been waiting for this. Great. But is this only for Vita or only for mobile?' There were a lot of disappointed voices," he said.
If all goes according to plan, a fully funded Kickstarter campaign should take care of the PC version that Nude Maker unfortunately doesn’t have the means to fund on its own. Kono also added that the outcome of the Kickstarter – be it success or failure – will not affect his original plans for the project: it will still be released on Vita and mobile devices. The Japanese company has also shown off a brief demo of the game (hence the screenshots), in which a so far unnamed female protagonist explores a massive cruise ship and eventually runs into the title’s scissor-wielding antagonist, the dreaded Scissor Walker.
