The highly-anticipated full-on remake of Final Fantasy VII has received a new trailer, with Square Enix apparently gearing up to share more information about it sometime next month. The project, which was originally announced during E3 2015, is a from-the-ground-up remake of 1997’s Final Fantasy VII, arguably one of the most popular and beloved JRPGs ever released. The new trailer was revealed during Sony’s recent “State of Play” broadcast and features a variety of in-game cutscenes, a quick look at the battle system and a promise that more would be coming in June. Although it is a little vexing that we’re still only seeing sequences from what is likely the game’s opening mission, one can only hope that a big reveal is coming in June that will unveil more characters and locations. We’ll see.

The trailer, by the way, is available with both English and Japanese voice-overs. You can watch both below:

In a blog post, Square Enix has also confirmed that the remake is still being planned as an episodic project. /Source (Japanese)/
