Developer Fool's Theory and publisher 11 bit studios have announced The Thaumaturge, a narrative-centric RPG “exploring the dark and esoteric side of reality in the culturally diverse world of early 20th century Warsaw.” Previously known under the codename “Vitriol”, The Thaumaturge will take players to 1905 and have them assume the role of a titular Thaumaturge, an individual capable of perceiving – and potentially taming – otherworldly spirit-beings known as Salutors. Announced as a full-fledged RPG, the game will feature various choices with consequences, a strategic turn-based combat system combining the human abilities of the protagonist with the supernatural skills of the Salutors, an intricate plot involving historical figures, and much more.
