Developer The Wild Gentlemen have announced RetroSpace, an action-stealth immersive sim with a unique, 70s sci-fi twist. When Aurora 5, the space station you’ve been working on as a janitor, gets sucked into a black hole, you end up surviving the ordeal – however, everything else changes: strange mutants start roaming the hallways, the flow of time gets all messed up, and now it’s apparently up to you to save mankind and not get eaten alive in the process. Offering a huge, interconnected station to explore, RetroSpace stays true to its immersive sim formula by featuring both stealthy and action-packed approaches to problem-solving; so, you know, if you’d rather sneak around a monster instead of bashing its skull in, you do have that choice here. Either way, not only does the project look mighty promising with its charming B-movie inspirations, it’s also giving me heavy System Shock vibes, which is always a good sign.
