Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, an upcoming adventure combining both heroes from the two famous franchises, is going to ship with free DLC – the 12 extra stories will become automatically available to players once they beat the game’s main storyline at least once. In addition to the above, Nintendo has also released a new collection of screenshots for the game.
The plot of Layton vs. Ace Attorney – as its title very much implies – stars genius English archaeologist Hershel Layton as well as Phoenix Wright, the renowned defense attorney from the Ace Attorney series as they are transported to the medieval land of Labyrinthia after finding a magical book of mysterious powers. The game’s story will then see both protagonists trying to save a girl who had been accused of being a witch and is consequently facing trial. The game will contain elements of gameplay from both franchises, with players exploring the world of Labyrinthia as Layton and solving puzzle after puzzle, while at the same time taking on the role of Phoenix as he cross-examines witnesses and gains vital clues by exposing contradictions in their testimonies.
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is scheduled to be released on March 28 in Europe, with the North-American release coming sometime later this year as well.
