After 23 years, the beloved point and click classic about time travel and an over-ambitious tentacle with plans of world domination will return in an HD format this March.
Day of the Tentacle, originally released all the way back in 1993, is getting redrawn and remastered HD visuals, as well as improved audio in this re-release set to launch on March 22 for Windows, OSX, PS4 and Vita. The game features three primary protagonists as they try to stop tentacles from taking over the world: one will stay in the present, while the other two are swept away to colonial times and a dystopian – tentacle-ruled – future, respectively. Players will also be able to freely switch between the old and new versions on the fly to customize the game’s graphics, user interface and audio as they wish. Aside from the improved visuals and audio, the game is also getting a commentary track featuring the original creators, including Tim Schafer.
