There is still light at the end of the tunnel, implied Joe Madureira, creative director of the Darksiders franchise, when he revealed that despite the unfortunate closure of THQ and Vigil, the series is still in good hands and may very well continue. We learned of Nordic’s acquisition of the Darksiders IP as early as April of last year – however, what the future could hold for the series, one could only speculate. Madureira also implied that the tale of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse may indeed continue sooner than later, as Nordic is very much eager to continue the currently dormant series. If this is all true, we can already say at least one thing for certain – there is no need for concern. Darksiders is not forgotten and will most definitely live on: all we have to do at this point is wait for the IP’s new owners to come forth and announce exactly what they’re planning to do next in the ongoing saga of the dark horsemen.

The latest installment in the series was Darksiders 2 – it was released in 2012, just a year before the company was forced to close its doors.
