The Brazil-based team of Massive Work Studio has launched its Kickstarter campaign for Dolmen, a sci-fi action-RPG that pits your lone hero against a host of Lovecraftian cosmic abominations on an alien world. Very clearly inspired by the Souls series, Dolmen features both online co-op and PvP elements, with other players either lending a helping hand or invading your timeline to defeat you. In terms of combat, players can expect both melee and ranged battle to play a key role, with the latter in particular allowing you to place various elemental debuffs on enemies. However, in order to activate your ranged weapons, you’ll have to use up a bit of Energy, an otherwise limited, non-regenerating resource that can also be used to heal yourself. If you’re not entirely convinced by what you’ve seen, there’s a simple way to try Dolmen for yourself, as a playable Steam demo is being distributed among backers who pledge at least $10 to the campaign.

Dolmen is in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and is scheduled to be released in late 2019. The Kickstarter campaign is still underway at the time of writing and is aiming to reach an initial goal of $90,000.
